Former congressman and Clinton/Obama impeachment crusader Bob Barr is mounting a comeback campaign to win the Georgia congressional seat currently held by Rep. Phil Gingrey. And lucky for Barr, he has won the support of Alex Jones. On his show last week, the InfoWars host saluted the Republican candidate’s supposed bravery in leading the fight to impeach President Clinton, telling him that “a lot of people died that went against Clinton, a lot of airplanes blew up, a lot of people got shot in the head five times and it does take backbone to try to impeach somebody when you’re going against gangsters like this.” “We’ve got to get rid of the Clinton mafia and I think what you’re hinting at is that if we put you back into Congress, you are going to start investigating, bringing charges of impeachment up in the House,” Jones said.

Barr angry that political stunt targeted his son
DULUTH, Aug. 13, 2002 – A self-proclaimed “Republican politico” crashed an afternoon press conference being held by Congressman Bob Barr today and launched into a verbal attack of the 7th Congressional District candidate.
Barr is running against fellow Republican John Linder. In recent days the campaign between the two conservatives has taken a nasty turn, according to Barr.
John E. Harris dressed up like a cartoon character and created a stir at a Barr campaign event over the weekend. Harris then slipped uninvited into Barr’s Duluth headquarters to challenge the Barr campaign’s version of events.
The Aug. 10 event was part of a seven-stop tour of 10 nationally known conservative leaders campaigning in the 7th Congressional District for Barr.
Harris proclaimed loudly to reporters that he was “beaten up” by Barr’s 20-year-old son, Derek Barr, while he was dressed up in a Yosemite Sam costume at the Canton rally.
Brian Walsh, Barr’s communications director, contends Harris was a “political operative” sent by the Linder campaign to crash the press conference.
Barr had already left by the time Harris arrived.
Formerly a Barr supporter, Harris said he is angry because Barr supporters tried to vilify him for his odd publicity stunt.
“Over the last two days, I have been beaten up by Bob Barr’s son – granted it wasn’t that big a deal,” Harris said. “[Derek Barr] pushed me in the face [his mask] and another guy whacked me in the side of the head and they scratched my chin.”
Harris admitted that he was bumping into people due to the large costume he wore. Harris said his wife shot the videotape. Harris then sent the video to his friend Bill Simon, who publishes a pro-Linder political newsletter called the Political Vine. Harris said the Linder camp had nothing to do with the stunt.
