And you totally know that if a Democratic Congressman had called Bush a dictator during his SOTU, the media would totally have ignored it and the GOP would have had no issue with and not demanded they apologize and resign.

I weep for Sissy because of her grandson. I pushed cards for Sissy Farenthold when she ran for governor in 1972, and I wasn't old enough to vote!!!

Her grandfather was John Tarleton, as in Tarleton State University.

I also to add Mike McCaul who was my rep in Brenham and Streaking Pete Sessions who also stinks up the Board of Trustees at my alma mater. Maybe they should get together and do a Laugh-In special together?

I think when I lived in Houston, my congresscritter was a Republican. If I'd lived east of Wirt Road my congresscritter would be the camera-hogging Sheila Jackson Lee. At least she's a Democrat.

She is no Barbara Jordan, nor Mickey Leland, nor Craig Washington. All three of those people were or are (in the case of Craig, still alive) brilliant.

Craig Washington was the most brilliant lawyer I ever saw in court in Houston. I saw him in one civil case and one criminal case. I don't know what he is doing now.

I would not want him as my deacon!

... He decided to run for the 14th Congressional District seat in 2012, moving to the town of Alvin, barely three miles within the boundaries of his congressional district, because his previous home in Pearland was outside the district. Weber is a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Pearland. He and his wife, Brenda, have three children.
