Repuke Georgia governor uses natural disaster press conference to take a stab at

the National Weather Service modeling of the storm that hit Atlanta.

The scum rethuglicons want to eliminate the NWS and while briefing his state on the situation in Georgia, Gov. Nathan Deal decided to use the opportunity to trash the government weather agency.

"In my opinion, the local meteorologists did a much better job at forecasting than the National Weather Service did," Deal said.

2. Typical GOP misdirection. I'm in NC and Weather Service warned about this storm for the last 3 days.

5. This is all about two inches of snow, right?

It seems to me, the problem wasn't actually the snow but everyone letting everyone out at the same time. From what I've read, the businesses and schools all closed around the same time, thus pushing thousands of commuters together in weather that got icy. That sounds like poor time management to me, not weather.

a press conference to update the state on the efforts to mitigate the event to put forth a political agenda by the pukes who want to shut down the NWS and other .gov agencies.

He's a piece of shit for doing that and for using that excuse in an attempt to cover his own failure to act sooner so that a great many of those being released from work and school wouldn't have been out in the storm to begin with.

9. the problem is, according to Deal, that since they didn't know it would snow

they didn't close businesses and schools until the snow actually came at about 130. He is full of shit since as pointed out the national weather service did tell us snow was coming, but if the weather service hadn't he would have a valid point.

12. But that's not all... He said that the local guys got it right, versus his claim that NWS got it

wrong.

So what he is saying is that the local guys did a better job of forecasting. And what's strange to me about that is that if the local guys got it right, why didn't he make the call based on their forecast? Even if he was deferring to the NWS (which we all know he wasn't because right-dickheads hate the NWS and want to eliminate it as a BIG GOV boondoggle - pffft!), the NWS is where the local guys get their information to make their own forecasts. But it also shows that he chose to ignore the local guys by not calling for storm response based on their forecast.

Either way you cut this, that dumbass Deal is responsible for the failure. The buck stops there. But he won't let that stop him from pointing the finger at a fall-guy, in this case, our national weather service.
