Christie scandal: New allegations emerge from Zimmer lawsuit

HOBOKEN — Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer threatened to fire Carmelo Garcia, director of the local housing authority, unless he agreed to hire politically connected contractors, a recently filed lawsuit claims.

Zimmer’s lawyer says the claims are baseless and suggested they are retaliation engineered by Christie allies.

In fact Garcia previously tried to sue Zimmer alleging that she was pursuing ethnic cleansing, Zayas represented him in that case as well although the case was dismissed as baseless. Just last week Zayas also falsley accused Zimmer of perjury, he said she lied in her answer to a question that she was never even asked. These guys are smear merchants and liars, they have been trying to take Zimmer down on baseless accusations for months.

you were wondering why people may be reticent to take on power.

“There was a suggestion in the NJTV report that Mr. Garcia may have released the secret tape at this time as part of an effort by him and Sen. Brian Stack, a strong supporter of Governor Christie, to retaliate against Mayor Zimmer for coming forward,” Krovatin said.

“If that is true, this is a particularly disturbing development in this case and it should be investigated by the appropriate authorities.”

Stack spokesman Mark Albiez said the senator was "in no way related" to the allegations.

"Senator Stack is appalled his name was even mentioned in relation to this situation," Albiez said.

A spokesman for Christie declined to comment.

No comment from a Christie spokesman-for the first time in history!

They are going to come at Zimmer with everything they've got because this is the place where they are vulnerable.

It's likely that it has deep roots in Hudson County politics and that Rockefeller Group thought they had the deal wired with local power brokers before Peter Cammarano was arrested and removed from office.

Which is likely why Stack's name comes up.

If Fishman digs around Hudson County, no telling what he'll turn up.

That is exactly what was going on. Stack is Hoboken' s state senator. Rockefeller Group invested a lot of effort in greasing the skids before Dawn Zimmer showed up. They had their ducks in a row with Christie, Stack, the DEP, the EDA, the DCA and they thought this was a done deal. Its how they operate. Christie putting pressure on Zimmer was part of his administration delivering on their prior promises. His good friend Stack was in on it too. Now they will all be coming after Zimmer!

his connections to Brian Stack, his attorney's connections to Christie and motives for them to attack Dawn Zimmer.

Read here: http://www.hobokenhorse.com/2014/01/ethnic-cleansing-attorney-louis-zayas.html

So why the vitriol?

Well Zayas is sitting on a million dollar verdict bonanza courtesy of a Jersey City jury (no Hoboken residents were on the panel) in the Alicea discrimination lawsuit and the City is showing every intention of appealing it - tying up a huge payday to him and his client.

In addition, Zayas' other client, Carmelo Garcia was humiliated seeing a questionable obviously politically motivated civil case thrown out of court on the first pass in Hudson County Superior Court. The "ethnic cleansing" aspect of the case brought national attention on Hoboken and is a stain on both Carmelo Garcia and Louis Zayas.

In the filing, Zayas and Garcia claimed Mayor Dawn Zimmer sought to implement a competing Vision 20/20 plan - where none exists.

Has Hoboken heard the last of this and Louis Zayas? Absolutely not. The political-public aspects are clear. Carmelo Garcia was handed a position for NJ assembly on the machine line courtesy of State Senator Brian Stack, a staunch Gov. Christie backer.

Take a look at the photo behind Zayas, which governor is he pictured with there? There's more in the shadows here than meets the eye.
