Mitt Romney Is the 2016 Republican Front-Runner (This is not an "Onion" story.)

Mitt Romney leads the Republican field among New Hampshire primary voters for 2016. Yes, you read that right.

Why not make it a third run for president? That's something that the former Republican nominee is definitely not thinking about right now. To put it in his own recent words: "Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no."

But that didn't stop the Virginia-based bipartisan policy firm Purple Strategies from adding his name to a recent survey for Granite State voters, which shows Romney in the lead with 25 percent support. Libertarian firebrand Rand Paul (who has strong infrastructure in New Hampshire) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are behind with 18 percent and 17 percent support, respectively.

We might be experiencing Mittmentum 3.0. The Netflix documentary about his 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns was recently released to the excitement of political insiders everywhere. GOP insiders want him to come back: "You know what a lot of them say to me?" an anonymous "operative" told BuzzFeed. "I think we need Mitt back." Romney was even on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to slow jam the news.

Like DOMA. Like any war for profit.
They will keep trying.
They will offer up the same old bull shit (forgive the language) time and time again.
Sooner or later they will slip it by. Sooner or later we will loose interest.
Sooner we will get tired of fighting.
Tired of "third ways".
Tired of "blue dogs" and just stand back.

Don't get me wrong. I look forward to our debate.
Should it be Hillary Clinton. Should it be Elizabeth Warren or Alan Grayson.
Hell should it even be Anthony Weiner.

Selling Romney counts on the possibility that our own desire for what's best will cause us to loose interest.
Cause us to stay home.
Cause us not to vote.

I consider Anthony Weiner a great disappointment to the Democratic party. A firebrand with the gift of talk that could have done good things except that he did not have the common sense and restraint to "keep his weenier in his pocket". Character is important.

Still, if my choice is Mitt Romney or Anthony Weiner.
I know the path I DO NOT want to follow and will not stand off to the sidelines.

Preserve Net Neutrality.
End Citizens United.
Weiner in 2016.

Look, I'll go talk to the lad if need be.

I know in the republican primary there is generally a main wingnut candidate, and an establishment candidate. For example, that would have been Santorum(wingnut) and Romney (establishment) last election cycle. I can name several potential wingnut candidates for 2016 (Santorum, Cruz, Paul), but I don't even know who the Republican establishment is now. (Paul Ryan?) So yeah, if Romney wants to be, he might be the front runner again. That's how terrible their field of candidates is now that Christie was exposed.

I just finished reading Double Down and it seems like her MS was bad enough during the campaign that she wasn't able to get around much. He really has nothing to gain by running again as he is rich enough he could sit on has ass and do nothing and live the rest of his life doing whatever he wants. His whole family would likely be against it. There are still plenty of unanswered questions with his taxes and where he's got him money parked, so it wouldn't fare well for him.
