Here's the purpose of the Wildstein letter (re: Christie)

Wildstein requested that the Port Authority pay his legal expenses; the Port Authority refused. The letter in effect says that Wildstein was acting at the direction and understanding of the Governor and the Administration when he carried out the lane closings, and therefore he was acting in his capacity as a Port Authority official and should be covered.

Why should he, Wildstein, have to go broke and possibly to jail while Christie gets to become even richer and, until now, possibly President?
