A woman whose horrific experience living in an Indiana home that she and even city police are convinced was a haunted 'portal to hell' has spoken out on her paranormal trauma and what it was like to be a family possessed.
Latoya Ammons says she has seen her own daughter levitate off a bed, her son walk up a wall so effortlessly that even a psychiatrist was at a loss and was herself the victim of demonic possession in what appears to be an average home in the Gary community near where Michael Jackson grew up.
'Me and my mother and my children, we almost lost our lives,' said Ammons, whose undeniably terrifying experience left her chilled to her core and now has an entire nation captivated by her spectral tale.
Ammons sat with Inside Edition for a deeply earnest interview in which she makes abundantly clear that her ordeal was no Casper the ghost made real.
'This was obviously demons,' she said. 'Not just random spirits. There is a difference.'

(51,311 posts)"But today, the veteran police officers, experienced physicians, paramedics, nurses, social workers and clergy linked to the case speak of being attacked by demons, profoundly shaken and left with little choice but to believe that something possessed the 32-year-old mother-of-three and the rented home in which she, her children and her mother, lived from November 2011 until May 2012."
So all these people are stupid dolts?

(33,224 posts)Puns are little "plays on words" that a certain breed of person loves to spring on you and then look at you in a certain self-satisfied way to indicate that he thinks that you must think that he is by far the cleverest person on Earth now that Benjamin Franklin is dead, when in fact what you are thinking is that if this person ever ends up in a lifeboat, the other passengers will hurl him overboard by the end of the first day even if they have plenty of food and water.

(35,961 posts)I thought that journalists, even ones that work for crappy rags like that, have the ability to write coherent paragraphs as part of their job description. This one looked like it was churned out by a seven year old who was doing a school project and who got into difficulty with the whole copy and paste thing in Word which resulted in entire sentences being repeated over and over again.
But I believe the story. After all, I've seen similar on 'Supernatural' so it must be true!!!

(5,075 posts)Has this experiment been replicated? No.
Is there a controlled trial of 'random spirit' versus 'demon' versus 'placebo spirit'? No.
Until then, I'll wait for a meta-analysis before I start considering this is a marketable phenomenon.
If is does prove to be a spreading epidemic then there will be a huge market for home vaccines. I'd go with Ghostbusters because of their proven track record and high level of consumer confidence.

(10,287 posts)in 1983 I lived in a small frame house on Thomasville road in Tallahassee florida. the house was old and had been a family home for one of the earlier local families.
when anyone had an appointment, the day before the little appointment card would appear in a corner shelf at eye level
and by eye level I mean eye level of the person who had an appointment (including pets)
this happened if we were home or not and it happened without regard to who was home (by this I mean that by people not being there when cards appeared we eliminated everyone in the house as a suspect)
that winter I was sitting in a chair with my oldest who was maybe 4 at the time watching downhill skiing (not a regular occurance either at the time we had an antanae and 3 channels). I said "I wonder how they score this stuff?" and my 4 year old proceeded to school me on all the fine points of downhill racing, he explained the whole sport and it turned out he had hit every point head on.
I asked him who told him so much about skiing and he said "the judge tells me" the judge was a very old man who would look in on him after he turned in and would tell him things.
at no time was any evil vibe felt or exhibited
I know holes can be easily knocked into this story and people will say well you just misinterpreted things and I myself am not particularly prone to this kind of stuff but it happened

(16,844 posts)you just don't hear much about them because they aren't sensational like malevolent ghost stories are. I believe in the reality of spirits, although I'm not quite sure what they are. I won't go into any detail about my experiences with spirits on this board, but my experiences have been much more positive than negative.
One possibility I've considered is that spirit encounters are energy manifestations from other dimensions. They definitely, in my mind, are some form of energy. The brain processes the information given to it by the senses and interprets that info by way of how it's related. Whatever we're encountering might be totally different than how we perceive it, our brains are just limited by what our senses can pick up. That's my favorite theory, anyway, but it certainly doesn't explain all experiences like the one you had.

(35,961 posts)It was sitting near my laptop and I got a random text message saying 'STOP LAUGHING!'. But when I tried to take a screen-shot of it to send to the Daily Mail, it had mysteriously vanished.
Even more mysteriously, when I opened the fridge this morning to get the milk for my cuppa, all but a tiny bit of milk was gone and the bottle wasn't where I'd left it yesterday. I could blame my daughter, but I'm pretty sure it's demonic possession of my fridge at play here!

(14,912 posts)thinking about the 8 megapixel HD camera *and* video recorder on my phone. I've had cell phones since they were the big bulky things that looked like the old military units, but without the backpack.
Hell, I didn't even learn how to text until late 2009, early 2010.... guess it comes from my "old school" mindset: "phones were for talking on, if I want to send someone a message, that's what a computer and email or yahoo messenger was for".
Time changes things, and I can't imagine NOT being able to text someone now, but still forget about the camera a lot of times.
Peace,
