The real reason no GOP members have been refuting the Christie charges:They ALL knew about the deals

Everyone in the GOP knew that exposing bridgegate or the Rockefeller deal would mean exposing ALL of the national GOP dirty development funding.

That also explains why Christie believed he could issue a 2 hour televised defence: He thought they'd all save him because they're all in this together.

So, MSNBC has been trouncing Christie 24/7 and very few have spoken up on his behalf:

I'm beginning to think we need a Scorcese film exposing all of this filth. But can DiCaprio play Christie?

I don't know who could play Christie. Chris Farley and John Candy are both gone. A lot of similarities between Johnnie LaRue and Christie.

Deals like Christie's have gone on in every state and every major city since the country was founded. Maybe not continuously, but corruption is the normal case. That is why most elected officials are sleazeballs. Yes, I know there are a few exceptions here and there from time to time, but nobody should have any illusions about this.

The only differences in Christie's case is just how brazen he was about it, and the fact that he wanted to use that graft as a way to get to the Presidency.

In the past there rarely have been consequences. The good news out of all of this is that today it is much, much more difficult to keep this under wraps. And when it unravels, it unravels in a hurry.

I don't know if Christie will end up in prison. He should. But I know he'll never have a sniff at the White House, and that is a rare victory for our democracy.
