Chris Christie Booed At Super Bowl Ceremony

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/01/christie-booed-super-bowl_n_4709527.html

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was booed as he took the stage at the Super Bowl handoff ceremony in Times Square on Saturday.

As if it weren't enough that his former ally, ex-Port Authority Official David Wildstein, is saying that there is evidence Christie knew about the George Washington Bridge lane closings that caused a monstrous days-long traffic jam in Fort Lee -- now he's getting booed in public, too.

The crowd jeered as Christie took the podium to "hand off" the Super Bowl to Arizona, the host of next year's big game:

At a construction cost of approximately $1.6 billion, MetLife stadium is the most expensive stadium ever built and is the largest stadium in the NFL in terms of permanent seating capacity. Yet it is a non-domed stadium in a cold-weather city. WTF?

We have never had a Superbowl in a non-domed stadium in a cold-weather city---for obvious reasons.

Most folks aren't as hardy as you apparently are. If you're going to build such a major, multi-use stadium, shouldn't you accomodate us folks who can go into hypothermia sitting for hours in below freezing temperatures?

And football was originally played in the fall, not in the dead of winter.

It has been below zero in NJ in October, not recently, but 44 is not really cold for foot ball. I thought sports were for the hardy type anyway. I can't imagine that foot ball is a good sport to sweat in. doesn't domed mean artificial turf? I hear that is really bad for sport, especially knees and as one who had knee operations, very painful. You are better slogging around in mud.

Look, if I knew what I was talking about, I wouldn't be hiding in my house not going on the roads at all because some people have rented out part of their houses around here. Seeing how bad the hotels look, I am not surprised people would rent rooms. it is all in good fun.

Christie was on a high after his landslide win in November. He saw himself as having a strong chance of becoming the GOP nominee in 2016. Some polls were even showing him a 2-3 points above Hillary, the only Republican to poll so well.

But, a person can't go through life stepping over the bodies of others without expecting that it will come back to bite him at some point in time. That time has come for Christie. It must be with shock and utter disbelief the realization that his presidential dreams are over and that he will be lucky if he manages to keep his current job.

The Super Bowl was supposed to be one more thing that he could brag about. He probably never imagined that he would be booed and seen as nothing more than a Tony Soprano wannabe.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Figure he is out of jail by 2040. That gives him 8 years to rehab his name. He could make a run for it then.

Then again, he could just make a run for Brazil now.
