I agree with your rule and use it often.
I am often confused about how to identify a legal gun voter from an illegal gun voter.

Any help will be appreciated. -wink-

Kinda like you vote with every dollar you spend. If you buy cheap crap at Wal-Mart, you vote for more manufacturing in China, less in the US, you vote for starvation wages for working people, and you vote for making the heirs of Sam Walton a little bit richer.

should one not - be required to demonstrate that eligibility before doing so? I bet some find-and-replace ('voter ID' vs. 'UBC') exercises on RWer arguments would create some entertaining results...

I can already hear the NRA's answer: But Justice Scalia said that our constitution does not give people the right to vote. What an unbelievable justice!

When buying through an Federal Firearm Licensee.

Generally we don't require checks to vote in polls conducting by private people.

Nice job meme maker.

Funny thing is that for years, Republicans have been using this same logic for support of voter ID.

All gun sales require a background check when transferred from gun sellers who are regulated by the Federal government (FFLs).

That is analogous to election voting (i.e., regulated by the federal government) and voter IDs.

Both private polls on politicians and private gun transfers are unregulated by the fed and background checks are not required.
