Why not extend the GOP's "people only work when they're on the edge" idea to other areas?

Elway, who won the Super Bowl twice as the Broncos quarterback and is now a team executive, was asked by Chris Wallace why he is a Republican.

His answer: Garbled nonsense about not believing in a social safety net.

“Well, it goes to what my beliefs are,” Elway said. “I believe that we’re giving the opportunity to succeed or not succeed.”

“I don’t believe in safety nets,” he said. “Obviously, we’ve got to have some kind of safety nets. But I think my philosophy is when given the opportunity to go take advantage of that, I think that’s when you get the best out of people.”

'We've got to have safety nets' / 'I don't believe in safety nets'

To be clear, 'safety nets' keep homes heated, they keep food in kitchens, people in homes, let people get medical care, and more.

Let's boil it down to what this really means, this 'opportunity to succeed or not succeed' and not having safety nets, although you know that there are plenty of people who need them... It means 'Sink or Swim', that people work best when there is the margin on one side and oblivion on the other.

So, in that spirit, I suggest that we come together with the other side of the aisle and find out ways how we can push our fellow Americans to the brink and see how hard they work to survive or if they fizzle out.

Here are some of my suggestions:

DoNotMakeMistakesEVER (tm):
* Do It Yourself Branding Kit - Someone you know made an unsavory career choice to pay for medical school or had a pot conviction in the 80's? Now you can make sure the whole world knows with our home branding kit, mark them for life!
* Poverty Scanner 9000 - With the Poverty Scanner, now you can find out where there are people asking for change or homeless veterans living under bridges and then you can keep a safe distance from them. Out of sight, out of mind!

PeopleMovers (tm):
* Anti-Loitering Technology - Get rid of pesky loiterers and unmotivated people in your hallways and on the sidewalks with man eating tigers in invisible fences
* Get-to-work-o-Tron - Tired of seeing people take their sweet time get to work? Buy this giant tank equipped with a mine plow and flatten all the work-shy people out there

PersonalResponsibility (tm):
* Food Stamp Binoculars - With this pair of AMAZING binoculars, you can see what food people are buying with food stamps. A very important item, make sure their food is food YOU approve of them eating.
* Welfare Fraud Locator - With this device, you can locate welfare fraud and then it will extrapolate what the real welfare fraud rate is. And as we all know, one detected case means that there are a BILLION cases of welfare fraud going undetected, just like with our Voter Fraud Locator.

Come on GOP, you can't just cut programs and hope that alone will put people on the brink (Although it is working to do that), you have to be a bit more proactive!
