Apologies people! Bob Dylan, icon of the hippie movement is advertising for automobiles, selling them! Being an old hippie who yelled about Paul McCartney 'selling out', well when it's Dylan, it's the end of the world!

It had to be pulled because he never agreed to let them use it iirc.

Just tried to find something about it and this is all I came up with:

TV has not always given respect to those performers for their earlier work. Thomson tells a story of David Bowie sitting in a hotel room in the U.S. and hearing his famous song, “Changes” transformed into a diaper-commercial jingle.

We make/assemble the Moto X.

Perhaps you should reconsider the Galaxy and buy the Moto X.

Fort Worth could use the extra work.

And to think what the younger generation missed! Our Generation is one that I'm so glad I was a part of!

I remember going to so many LIVE Concerts and having a blast, even while we has so much upheaval going on. Looking back, I think so many forget that we DID fight for our rights and there was so much more going on than Sec, Drugs & Rock 'n Roll! Even though that part of it was all inclusive for me.

To think that back then anyone over 30 was NOT to be trusted! Dylan was really never into the political activism like Baez, Lennon and so many others were. But he sure wrote loads of songs that fueled us on.

They wrote books about it. They wrote songs about it. They made MOVIES about it.

Zoom to today...

Artists who write books, record music, and film movies can't wait to jump on the wagon pulled by "The Man".

I decided to vote for Democrats based on what I saw going on around me in the 60s and early 70s. Forget that Lyndon Johnson lied the nation into a war with his Gulf of Tonkin speech... it was STILL a choice of Democrat or Republican.

Somewhere in my 52 years the world has flipped upside down, turned inside out, and backwards.

Back in the day, those who made "art", no matter which form it may have come in, avoided government at all costs, and sometimes it cost them plenty.

Today? The BEST thing an "artist" can do is make a commercial for some government program or another, campaign for one politician or another, or... be still my heart... BE INVITED TO THE WHITE HOUSE for a private performance.

We applaud that.

This is Bob Dylan, inspiration for at LEAST one generation of musicians, and possibly writers and filmmakers, taking something for himself. Finally. I have never in my life bought a Chrysler product. Since they've been sold to investors from another country, I probably never will.

I'm just glad that the guy who recorded "Watchin' the River Flow", which was actually a signal he was more a musician than a political activist, is getting a little somp'm somp'm for himself after all these years.
