La. police chief dies of gunshot wound at Miss. casino

The chief of the Morgan City (La.) Police Department was found dead Friday night in a casino hotel room in Biloxi, Miss., according to Biloxi police.

Biloxi police Sgt. Chris De Back told the Sun-Herald newspaper that officers were responding to a reported shooting about 11 p.m. when they discovered Travis Crouch, 46, dead in his room at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

An autopsy was completed Saturday, and Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said Crouch died of a gunshot wound to the head. Hargrove had not determined whether the death was accidental or intentional.

De Back said Crouch, who was in town with a group of friends, was found in his own room.

Kicks in to a scenario of an obvious suicide officially determined accidental to protect the death benefits for the family of a thin blue line member. I know it's premature. .says more about my trust in police than actual facts of this case.
