16 Million when she entered the race. Republicans do that to keep others from even running.

The longer she stays in and the more she raises, the more the big donors will pour in. A lot of the wealthiest donors sit on the sidelines until they see how effective the investment will be.

I've donated to Davis twice and phonebanked.

I know I'll donate again. I really hope she wins!

people aren't very familiar with Abbott. The more that comes out about him, the better for Wendy. That man is pure evil.

Wendy beat Greg in the totals for the six month period ending December 31 but since then Greg has raised $3.2 million to $912,000 for Wendy. The GOP was shocked by Wendy's 12/31 numbers and that has aided Greg.

Greg is going to have more money than Wendy. I am still expecting Wendy to raise around $30 million but she will not have as much money as Greg.

So far, Wendy is beating Bill White's numbers http://fwbusinesspress.com/fwbp/article/1/3857/Breaking-News/Davis-shows-fundraising-clout-though-Abbott-leads-in-cash.aspx

The Fort Worth state senator, who jumped into the race more than three months ago, detailed her fundraising activity in campaign reports that listed 71,843 individual donors from both inside and outside of Texas. Former Houston Mayor Bill White, the 2010 Democratic nominee for governor, had about half that number in raising a total of $26 million – hailed as a record or near-record for Democratic fundraising in Texas.

“We had in the range of 34,000 donors, and it took us a year-plus to do it,” White’s former campaign chairman, Scott Atlas, said in recalling the Democratic candidate’s race against Republican Gov. Rick Perry. “She’s got – what? – 71,000-plus in three months. It’s quite impressive what she’s done. I mean it’s remarkable.”
Atlas, an attorney-businessman, said Davis is on track “to exceed our numbers.”

White lost to a better candidate (Perry) in a sweep year (2010). Wendy is running in a better year for Democrats against a weaker candidate. Greg will have more money but I expect Wendy to win

than I'd like to see her raise, and spend another $50 million.

If she starts getting big $$$ from big donors, is she still gonna be FOR the little people?

Of course, $50 million is only about $25 from every Democratic voter in Texas.

I view this race as about making progress and taking away right-wing cash from other races. This isn't a race I realistically expect to win. But in 30-40 years, when we can perhaps see a blue Texas, we can say Wendy Davis helped to get us there.

Progress is key. Stay positive and remember this is about winning the war, not just one battle.
