Our asshole WTP (worse than Palin) governor is trying to amend Alaska's Constitution to allow public funds to go to private schools. People aren't taking it well.
http://www.adn.com/2014/02/03/3305338/voucher-amendment-wont-harm-public.html
<snip>
Sen. Pete Kelly, a sponsor of the amendment, questioned the first dozen or so speakers about whether they were members of NEA-Alaska, the state's main teachers' union. That prompted several sarcastic responses.
"Are you a member of the NEA?" Kelly asked Betty Mactavish of Fairbanks, an amendment opponent.
"No," she replied, "I'm a grandmother!"
A couple witnesses later, Terrie Gottstein of Anchorage opened her statement in opposition to the amendment as if she were testifying before the House Un-American Activities Committee in the 1950s: "I would like to begin by saying I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the NEA," she said to uproarious laughter.
Kelly said he wouldn't discount the testimony of union members.
<snip>
Hey, Pete Kelly, if you're not discounting the opinion of union members, why ask?
It sickens me the way ALEC has insinuated itself into Alaska's legislature. This is only one of many boneheaded pieces of legislation they're bringing up here.

Everyday that I wake up and Sean Parnell is still governor, it gives me another reason to hate Sarah Palin.
