the LANGUAGES of America.

This is AMERICA. In America we speak ENGLISH . . .

and German, and Spanish, and French, and Polish, and Czech, and Arabic, and Russian, and Hindi, and Farsi, and Chinese, and Japanese, and Greek, . . .

and more.

The naysayers, xenophobes, haters, and other closed minded bigots in this country are quick to say they are "real Americans,"

but in truth, REAL Americans are open, and welcoming, and inclusive. . . and they are proud that all of the above are

the LANGUAGES of America.

When I want to discuss politics, I come here. I find people who post politics on Facebook are in bad need of attention.

a political subject on Facebook because I want friends and family to know the truth. For instance, I posted the report on fracking, which is an important issue in NC. That was an informative post, not attention seeking. I agree with you about political discussions not being appropriate on Facebook.

It is how we dialogue about important issues facing this country and the world. I agree that FB can be - and is - used by many seeking attention. I wouldn't have said it if I didn't think it was going to get attention - that's kind of the point. But then that goes on here as well.

I used to do it there all the time. One day I realized I was just pissing many people off. I decided to just post personal info I wanted to share with people. However, I WILL comment on those that post.

there are also native speakers of Hawaiian. Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens, as are residents of Guam (who speak Chamorro). Cajun French is found in Louisiana, and there are Spanish speakers in New Mexico whose ancestors have lived there since the days of the conquistadors. Gullah in the Georgia Sea Islands is a mixture of English and various African languages.

So even among non-immigrants, there are a variety of languages.

I was running late and had to cut it short, Perhaps I can still edit it.

Now it says:

This is AMERICA. In America we speak ENGLISH . . . and German, and Spanish, and French, and Polish, and Czech, and Arabic, and Russian, and Hindi, and Farsi, and Chinese, and Japanese, and Greek, Gullah, Chamorro, Cajun French, - not to mention Native American languages: Cherokee, Athabaskan, Navajo, Choctaw, Yupik, Dakota, Apache, Zuni, Ojibwa, Pima, Inupik, Hopi, Muskogee, Crow, Shoshoni, Cheyenne, Eskimo, Tiwa . . . and more. -- The naysayers, xenophobes, haters, and other closed minded bigots in this country are quick to say they are "real Americans," but in truth, REAL Americans are open, and welcoming, and inclusive. . . and they are proud that all of the above are the LANGUAGES of America.
