NYC mom sues after cop fractures her 10-year-old son's leg, report says

A Brooklyn mother is suing after her 10-year-old boy was assaulted by a police officer for filming him with his mother's cell phone, according to a report from the New York Daily News.

Police were at Krystle Silvera's Flatbush residence searching for her ex-boyfriend in connection to violating an order of protection, the report said.

The cops began pounding on the door at 7 a.m. on Jan. 30, according to a lawsuit filed by Silvera. Her son, Courtney, took his mom's cell phone and started filming them after his grandmother opened the door.

"The police had come to our house before (due to the domestic complaint),"Silvera told the Daily News. "He's fascinated by the police — he looks up to them."

The officer began assaulting the child, and left him with a fractured leg, the report said.
