What will he be like when he gets out of prison? Will he even do 27 years?
Mr. Mora's family will never forget their loved one left this world this way. Just no good reason for doing this.

(17,862 posts)call liberals soft on crime, but I bet you will not find a single poster in this thread thinking that the sentence was too much. Would such an attitude exist on a board such as this in the 1970s for example? I think the era of Norman Mailer arguing for the release of a murderer has past and conservatives no longer have a soft on crime bogie man to point to.
The father of the one who delivered the deadly blow says he does not understand what the big deal was since his son did not intend to kill the man.

But Jones father, Terry Jones, said Monday that his son didnt realize that the blow he was struck was fatal.
He was only trying to knock him out, he said, adding that his sons troubles dated to his joining the gang and time he spent in juvenile detention in DuPage County.

He needs to be taken off the street until he's old enough to have developed more sense. If he fails to develop better sense, he'll be right back in the can in record time and he will belong there.

(30,247 posts)Maybe it will deter others from practicing this "game". In my town they killed a homeless man, just for the fun of it. The perps were 13 and 14 years old. They start young..........
