New COSMOS series premieres March 9 on FOX.

Co-written by Ann Druyan and Steven Soter, who cowrote the original series with Carl Sagan, and produced by them and Seth Macfarlane (yes, THAT Seth Macfarlane). Neil deGrasse Tyson hosts.

I am going to watch the hell out of this show. Just the new, state-of-the-art Cosmic Calendar is gonna cause some fundamentalist heads to explode.

the National Geographic Channel is airing it, too. Not sure when they're starting it, though.

The FOX Entertainment channel has traditionally been not as right-wing nutty as the horrible FOX News channel. Remember, this is the channel that airs The Simpsons and Family Guy.

After all, he pulls a lot of weight with them because he produces some of their more popular shows.

I believe I heard Tyson say that he's glad that it's going to be on FOX, because it will hit a larger and different audience than it would if it were on PBS...and these are people that probably really NEED to see it.

Remember, the original writers, including Sagan's widow, are back.

And I of course am just going by the trailer so, I'm open to seeing what it is.

I knew Sagan a bit, back when he was at Cornell..and would certainly trust him.

Lots of trailers crib music from something else while the real soundtrack is being worked on.

It would be awesome if they could get Vangelis, Jarre, and some of the others from the original show to contribute again. Part of what made the original show so fantastic was its incredible music.

I hate the fact that Fox is involved too, but I've been schooled on this: http://www.democraticunderground.com/122826098
