obviously we are going to spend the year trying to get option 1, and hopefully our efforts will swing this poll.

6. It's a poll. It's neither optimistic or pessamistic as it stands.

and frankly, I believe in actual analysis based on knowledge.

4. Without a vote-inspiring platform, the Democrats will sink like a stone this fall.

"Not the Republican" while advocating/condoning Republican policies just isn't going to inspire many. Real Republicans, on the other hand, will vote with religious ferver, as is their custom.

If the Democratic leadership really wants to win, they will advocate loudly for policies that help the People. A $10.10 minimum wage that's still way below a living wage isn't going to inspire. Meanwhile, Democrats have ceded opportunities to the Republicans - reining in the NSA, legalization of weed, etc.

It's just more proof that parliamentary systems are better.

That the House is taken back, and the Senate is retained.
However, I don't feel too optimistic, I just feel tired.

Regardless, I am going to help in VA, and more so during the second half of the year.

too hard to tell right now, although I do expect the Republicans to pick up a couple of seats in the Senate.

will turn out and elect a Majority in the House, and that we will pick up a couple of Senate seats. All it will take is a concerted effort by activists on DU and elsewhere to:

GOTV 2014 and Beyond!

Are you in, cali?

I'm realistic. I like at information and use my base of knowledge.

I think it's about even at the moment as to dems holding on to the senate- perhaps a small disadvantage, but I'm hopeful that repukes will pull a 2012 and blow it though by all reasonable analysis they the edge.

As for the House? Very unlikely. Gerrymandering. Doesn't mean I won't be making calls to get out the dem vote as I do every election, but I don't believe in ignoring facts.

The new Courier-Journal poll has ALG with a 4pt lead, so the Koch money is not making much of an impact(so far). IMHO, that is a good sign.

I believe that we will pick up a few seats in the House, but probably not enough.

will decrease in both houses for each controlling party. Senate stays Democrats, House stays Republican.
