A globally recognized sports superstar associated with Nike's Jordan clothing line adds thousands of times more economic value to Nike's balance sheet than the Malaysian factory workers.

Same with the amount of money Mario Batali gets compared with factory worker making his branded goods.

Are worth less than the name selling the product ... ?

That is what I said, Bizzaro World ....

And your balance sheet B.S. is just B.S.

What comes first, the chicken or the egg ... ???

Is Nike a shoe or shirt or slogan or name ...

Do you pay $100+ for a name slogan ..?

Differentiation. It is perceived brand value. That is why their typical back office jobs pay at or below market value and their marketing and advertising budgets are so huge. They ate selling a 6 dollar shoe for $100 because of their brand effect achieved via superstar endorsers and dominant position among college programs among others.
