Draconian GOP/Fundamentalist View Of Marriage Women Won't Like. Add Up Their Rhetoric.

If you add up all the rhetoric that surfaces across the country by the GOP and religious zealots here is what marriage is to them.

1. Only between a man and a woman and is a life long convenant anointed by God.
2. Both partners must be virgins when married.
3. Both partners are bound to each other no matter what until death.
4. The man own the woman and she must submit to everything he wants even sex or pregnancy upon demand.
5. There is no such thing as abuse in marriage nor is there any such thing as rape.
6. Once entered the marriage should be impossible to dissolve. (unless the man wants it).
7. There is no such thing as family planning by any method.
8. The state should dictate the terms of divorce. Only approved reasons for divorce should be granted.
9. The state authorities have the right to force counseling on troubled marriages and it must be preserved at all costs.
10. Once pregnant the woman loses her right to control her health care.
11. Also one pregnant a woman will not be allowed to do anything that is a threat to her fetus.
12. Any sex outside of marriage is a punishable civil offense.

Need I say more. And I am sure the GOP and its friends can come up with some more ideas.

We all have to remember that where ever screwball rhetoric comes up any where in the country on almost any issue is part of the GOP agenda in total. These rhetorical set pieces are just little trial balloons all connected to the same agenda nationally.

My second husband damn near literally killed me.
And I mean that.

He never hit me or threatened me. It was all emotional and mental abuse. He was always negative and critical of me and expected me to work all day at an extremely demanding job and wait on him at night and cook dinner.

He refused to have sex with me after I had a beautiful healthy baby, which he wanted me to abort. I refused. All he cared about was money. He said we couldn't afford a baby, and he had a good job and good insurance. He couldn't be bothered to wear a rubber apparently. I got pregnant accidentally. I refused to do what he told me to do, abort a healthy baby, so therefore he would "punish" me by ignoring me and withholding affection.

He tried to nag me to death and then told people that I faked severe pneumonia which lasted about seven or eight years. I was married for four years when I had a physical collapse from exhaustion and severe bacterial pneumonia. I was in and out of the hospital and ER constantly. Barfing my guts out and dehydrated from sinus infections. My doctor rinsed the pus out of my lungs four times in five years. I would have drowned in my own pus and died if the doctor had not done that.

He told people I bribed my doctor to put me in the hospital because I "wanted attention". He also said I got sick to embarrass him at work for running up huge hospital bills for his insurance to pay. He also refused to take baths and got sticky so I wouldn't touch him. A total narcissist, thought he was a doctor and lawyer and was neither. I told him, "You stood up in front of people and promised to love, comfort, honor and keep me. You don't love me, comfort me, honor me or keep me. You lied." He looked surprised.

He thought marriage was living in a boardinghouse with a landlady that cooked. No telling me he loved me, telling me I had to "earn his respect", etc. You can kill a person by nagging them and destroying their immune system. Took me 2 and a half years to get a divorce. He also sued my elderly parents during my divorce, tried to get my father's law license revoked when he was 79 years old, and managed to blow up the college trust fund my parents had established for our child's education.

My parents had to use that money to defend themselves against him. He was warned by their lawyer that he was jeopardizing her education, and he filed an interpleader against them anyway. So he got to pay for her college. Every goddamn dime of it. I couldn't contribute. I had paid him child support for years, until she finished high school.

I was in the kind of nightmare that these right-wing assholes wouldn't let me get out of.

It was either literally die or get away from this bad-vibes narcissist sociopath.
