Tammy Duckworth nails a fraud to the wall

What's The Dumbest Thing You Could Say To A Congresswoman Who Lost Her Legs In Battle? Um, THIS.
Adam Mordecai Adam Mordecai

An IRS contractor named Braulio Castillo hurt his foot playing football in military prep school. He never served in the actual military. Then one day, decades later, he used it to get preferred treatment in government contracts. Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), who lost both her legs and still could lose her arm from combat injuries, felt that this might just be a touch inappropriate. It gets amazing around 4:30.

He actually sounded sincere. I believe Darrell Issa belongs in prison, but what he said to Rep. Duckworth was appropriate and respectful.

I agree, Tammy Duckworth has the right stuff.

She still does a great job of showing him what a "W" he is.

It made me think of a joke posted the other day by coyotl:

George H. W. Bush walks into a bar and says, "Son, pour me your best scotch."
Bartender replies, "No way."
Pissed off, Bush finds the manager and bitches.
Manager confronts the bartender in private and returns,
"Sorry, Mr. President, but you called him 'Son' didn't you?"
Exasperated, Bush shouts, "What the fuck does that have to do with anything?"
Manager replies, "Everybody knows that any son of yours don't have to serve."

nobody said this was breaking news ... and just because it is "old" does not mean that it is not noteworthy.

It might have been nice - and certainly more helpful - to indicate that this happened at a hearing last year and that it was lauded widely at the time here on DU.

Simply saying "old news" comes across as rather pompous

I was saying that the fact that it happened last year does not make it any less noteworthy.

I think it is disrespectful to merely pass an incident of this nature off as "old news"

If you want to give it some context, fine, but otherwise . . .

It was ugly enough, (she was pushed) but she said she could get disability for it. She's such a hypocrite because she Deplores the 47% she says are takers (remember Rmoney's 2012 comment).

I'm not going to send it to her. I don't want any contact with her for other reasons.

Looked up on Google to see what came of it, and sadly nothing as far as I can see. Guy probably still is raking in the money with his twisted ankle disability and Vets are still suffering from the backlog of disability claims.
