It loooks like they're running down on teflon tracks. They're landing on snow, but the jump looks dry.

(61,694 posts)But putting down hard tracks is an equalizer since competitors aren't using and wearing down whatever snow/ice is in the track. It lines up the athletes for the jump better, too.
The alpine downhill has been awesome. I'm pissed that NBC repeated the ice skating stuff from earlier today.

(20,805 posts)...not a fan myself...i like the idea that you need to be able to control your skis all the way down the hill, rather than "locking" them in like a ride at Disneyland...and yes I too am sick of the fucking ice skating...
