Mother Deanna Fei fires back at AOL CEO

Follow the link. Masterful piece of writing by a mother whose child was used as an excuse to slash benefits.

Also, I'd encourage any of you who have twitter to follow @wilw. I'm a star trek fan and followed Wil Wheaton because he played Wesley Crusher on The Next Generation, but in addition to his very funny posts he does great work getting stories like this out to his million plus followers.

Ten years ago, my husband and I paid NOTHING for healthcare benefits at our respective high-tech jobs. Our co-pays were very low as were our deductibles.

Fast forward to today. We are paying $550.00 out of my husband's paycheck to receive healthcare. The copays are $40, and the deductibles are high. And there's no dental plan.

This amounts to a $7,000 annual pay cut.

This is the trend in corporate American, with big companies like AOL leading the way. The bigger companies pave the way for the mid-sized and smaller companies to incorporate these horrible policies.

Pretty soon, healthcare won't be a benefit any longer.

Our wages are stagnating, our benefits are being slashed. Who has a pension anymore?

They are slowly cutting us off at the knees.

To blame this on two babies is ridiculous. This is happening because of greed. I am so glad to see the parents of one of these babies speaking truth. The fact that we can all see this child, helps us to understand that these are real people behind the lies told at AOL. Ever American can identify with this family. Did this AOL greed mongering CEO think that he was going to demonize parents who need healthcare for their child--in the same way that SNAP recipients or welfare moms have?

I'm so sick and tired of the wealthy bastardizing the AMERICAN PEOPLE.
