Let's revise our old offensive stereotypes about who's been hogging all the watermelons

Naturally, in our rush to construct new offensive sterotypes, we should consider the scientific evidence, so read this:

Factors Affecting Watermelon Consumption In the United States
Gary Lucier and Biing-Hwan Lin
Vegetables and Specialties: Situation and Outlook
Economic Research Service USDA
November 2001

Here's what I learned from Table A-2 on page 27:

Non-Hispanic whites and non-Hispanic blacks are getting less than 90% of their fair share of the nation's watermelons; Hispanics are getting 30% more than their fair share; and the remaining ethnic groups are eating 189% more than their fair share!

Rich people and poor people are getting about 90% of their fair share of the nation's watermelons; and the middle class is eating 15% more than their fair share!

Southerners are getting barely 80% of their fair share of the nation's watermelons; Northeasterners and Midwesterners are getting about 90% of their fair share; and Westerners are eating 37% more than their fair share!

Men are getting only 97% of their fair share; and women are eating 3% more than their fair share!

My proposal for a new offensive stereotype: Middle-class non-hispanic Western women, who do not consider themselves either black nor white, love watermelon!

I don't like watermelon & never eat it. I might have scooped up a piece from a salad bar at some point in the last twenty years, but what I was really going for was the cantaloupe.

6. Well, I'm a non-Hispanic white male in the South, and I love watermelon

But the point of the stereotype is to offer lazy fug-heads the opportunity to believe they can know something about other people without all the bother of interacting with them

It is a cheap high volume produce in season. Last year I bought somewhere over 150 in 60 days from a local grower, it was all 300 retired, predominantly white, middle class people wanted.

Oh, In the same time, the same people ate over 500 cantelopes from the same grower. .

along with some other fruit. it's good for those who want something healthy instead of usual junk like the hot dogs. although the hot dogs are really good.
