but I'd rather earn it because someone just likes me for me, or for what I contribute sometimes. That's how I choose who I donate stars to, when I have the money. I have donated up to 12 stars in one night, if memory serves correctly. My very first star was donated to me, and I never forgot it. I've paid it forwards more times than I can count.

I'm short on money this month, thanks to a $400.00 electric bill from the deep freeze here in Tennessee the past two months. Had the highest electric bills last month and this month in the 12 years I've lived here in the same place.

I'll pay it forward to someone, in the form of a star, in a couple of months when Spring hits and I can turn off the heat, open the windows, and don't need to run the A/C!

who have not been given hearts, and give them one.

I love the heart thing - and what I love most is to browse through numerous threads and look for folks who don't have any hearts and give them one. I love knowing that they'll have absolutely no idea who gave them a heart, they'll just be surprised and pleased that they got one.

So please understand, I'm not posting on your thread to get a heart for myself, I'm just using your thread as an opportunity to encourage others to give hearts to those who don't have any.

I'd love to see every poster on DU with at least one heart by the end of this giveaway - think about what a feeling of welcoming community that would engender!
