Child pornography charges against Bellevue man lead to $1 million bail

A judge on Monday ordered that an Omaha child care provider, charged with possessing and distributing child pornography, be held on $1 million bail.
James R. Klinkner, 35, of Bellevue, appeared Monday in Sarpy County Court. He is charged with 31 counts of distribution of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography with intent to distribute.
Each count of distribution of child pornography is a felony punishable by up to 50 years in prison. Each count of possession of child pornography is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Klinkner, who worked at La Petite Academy near 140th Street and West Center Road in Omaha, is being held in the Sarpy County Jail. Klinkner was arrested Thursday following a nine-month investigation by Bellevue police.
