Several college football players in South Carolina support Michael Sam:

Four men who played their college football in the Palmetto State threw their full support behind Michael Sam and his decision to make his sexual orientation public in media interviews this weekend.

“I think that he is very brave,” former Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins said. “I can’t judge him. I commend him on coming out. That definitely was a man move. A lot of people wouldn’t do that.”

Former South Carolina Gamecocks Victor Hampton, Bruce Ellington and Kelcy Quarles similarly lauded Sam, a former Missouri football player. He will be the first openly gay player in the NFL if he makes a team this fall, and he is projected to be drafted between the fourth and seventh rounds in May.

I'm very proud of all of them especially Sammy.
This should cause heads to explode all over the state. Most people in SC are rabid fans of one school or another.(Disclosure:I am. Go Tigers. One time I'm proud of Gamecocks too.)

These men were great players at their schools in the last few years. They are outstanding role models. Nobody gets more attention and people looking up to them. This is very important. You can decry the money used on college sports, but at least recognize that it can be a positive influence.
(Sammy had was caught with weed his sophomore year, but he owned it and took his 2 game suspension in stride. That was his one mistake and he said he had to prove that he was as good a person as he was a player especially to kids.)

all went in the 1st Round. Falling to 4-7th rounds would be really bad news for this guy, and if it happens, will probably be due to his announcement. I've noticed the projections of his draft status are getting lower.
