Some people have speculated that he got some info about the investigation of him by an independent lawyer. The report about the situation is supposed to be released soon. They think it may have contained negative info about him and he exploded. Others think he just returned to type. It may be both or neither.

Everyone was caught off guard. I was gobsmacked. Did his lawyer have a clue about this? He sounds unhinged. It can't help him.

In addition, the tweet I posted is a vile thing to post whether it 's true or not. That will earn him a shitstorm as it should.

Dooshbag. We had a hero football player this week and things were going well and then the media had to bring this trash out again. Go away Richie forever. Go to some island and live there and never appear in the media again.

2. I don't fault the media for this.

It is a news story as well as a sports story.
It exploded on social media. Some news people may be handling the story badly, but I expected them to report on it.

In addition, it takes away the intense spotlight on Sam. He needs to be left alone so he can prepare for the combine next week. It also may give some people more time to re-evaluate the 'distraction'.
I think the league office may be quietly talking to some people. They won't make anybody speak well of him, but I believe they want the stupidity and negativity to end.
