When I got to his shop, he was searching for a dentist who could take care of it right away. He had called several, and none had an emergency appointment time available. I was able to tell him about an emergency dental clinic nearby that might be able to take him today. He called, and they could take him in just an hour later.
So he gave me the haircut. I paid him, and he closed down his barber shop and headed for the clinic. I hope it worked out for him. He doesn't have a computer, so was searching in the Yellow Pages. I had a card from the clinic in my wallet from a time when I took my wife there a few months ago.
I can't imagine not having Google available. That's how I found the place the first time. Nice folks at the clinic, reasonable pricing, and great reviews on Yelp.
We're so lucky today to have the resources we have to find stuff we need quickly.

(146,287 posts)I don't use a GPS, but I use Google Maps all the time, and print out directions and maps whenever I have to go somewhere I haven't been before in the Twin Cities. Sometimes, I even use Street View to see what the building looks like and where to park.

(4,551 posts)IIRC, dentists are obligated to provide emergency care (if you show up). I wouldn't assume it's free care though.
