Sportscaster Dale Hansen to appear on ‘Ellen’ tomorrow to discuss Michael Sam commentary
We predicted this story would get more attention, and it has: Dale Hansen has been the top-trending topic on Facebook all day Thursday, and DFW.com staff writers have had friends in New Mexico, New Hampshire, California and even South Africa post about it. But the post that really got our attention was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Facebook page: “When I saw this clip of Dale Hansen, I wanted him here immediately. He's on my show tomorrow.” Because of Olympics coverage, Ellen will air earlier than usual, at 1 p.m. on KXAS/Channel 5.
“Sports broadcaster DALE HANSEN's beautiful, hard-hitting words in support of gay football player Michael Sam's coming out have inspired a dialogue and movement celebrating difference across the web,” says an item on the Ellen DeGeneres Show website. “The video report of his commentary immediately went viral upon release, and Ellen's got him front and center to share his thoughts with the world!”
