S.E. Cupp: Democrats are using ‘birth control for solar panels’ to distract from Obamacare

By Arturo Garcia
Thursday, February 13, 2014 20:41 EST

CNN host S.E. Cupp accused Democrats on Thursday of playing “small ball” by trying to distract the country from conservative opposition to the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as “Obamacare.”

“It seems to me, Mo, Democrats really want to focus on low-priority issues,” Cupp told Democratic National Committee spokesperson Mo Elleithee. “Like felony voter rights, the ‘war on women,’ birth control for solar panels, whatever it is.”

Meanwhile, Cupp said, Republicans are focused on repealing Obamacare because it affects all Americans. She did not mention that results from a CNN poll released on Feb. 7 showed that 55 percent of respondents felt her party was “out of touch” with women, including 64 percent of women over the age of 50.

“You’re in the news business,” Elleithee shot back. “I’m surprised you haven’t read some of these headlines about how we are out there talking about education –”

“Felony voter rights,” Cupp repeated, cutting Elleithee off. “The ‘war on women,’ yeah, the minimum wage.”

“We’re talking about equal pay for women,” Elleithee continued.

“These are issues that are small ball,” Cupp insisted. “They will not create jobs. They will not put people back to work. These are small-ball issues.”

Cupp did not mention the Congressional Budget Office report indicating that the health care law could open up jobs since people using the health care exchange it created will have the opportunity to choose to work less than a full-time schedule.

“You go tell that to the family in the Midwest right now that is getting short-changed on their income because the wife is not being paid what she is worth,” Elleithee said. “It is a family economic issue. That’s what we are focused on.”

Watch the discussion, as aired on Thursday, below.

Democrats aren't conserned with "conservative opposition."

By the way, "conservative opposition" is not popular opposition or mass opposition or citizen opposition. It's political.

The GOP wants high unemployment for two reasons.

The most important is they remember the Clinton Administration, that hellish era when serfs could actually walk into their bosses' office and tell them, "your competitor just offered me 50 percent more than you pay, and I'm gonna have to leave unless you match it AND give me a new chair." They don't want serfs to have that much power ever again.

The other is, if the unemployment rate is four percent they can't play the "Democrat policies are destroying American jobs" card. Which they use even when they're in charge: you know they blamed the 10.8 percent U3 Reagan's first tax cut caused on Carter.
