Well, if there was an earthquake there was most likely a fault line. There is a huge fault line okaawhatever Feb 2014 #4

Thought I was hallucinating until my neighbor said something to me a couple of minutes later.

My dad worked there many years ago... I think the reactors there have been shut down but not sure.

I was born in Aiken, SC.... never realized there was a fault-line there.

and we have a fault line very near by and have had an earthquake along it....

I just Googled fault lines and surprise... SC is a hot spot... Like I said, never knew that in all the years I lived there.

We learn something new every day!

So far she is doing quite well... we are encouraged. I'm a bit surprised at the polling numbers she's pulling, although Governor Beshear has done such an excellent job and I think that is helping. If we can get McConnell out... then we set our sites on Rand Paul. In many ways, he's more of an embarrassment than McConnell.

I'm in Lexington.... been to Nashville a lot over the years.

Many of them are extinct but some of them are up to something. One of the largest earthquakes in the US occurred in Charleston, SC in 1886.

nearly 18, I never knew there were faults there. Thanks for the info on the quake in 1886... very interesting. I wonder if my friends in Charleston know about that... I think I'll give them something to think about. But then you guys have been through enough this week... I'll wait!

People are probably still telling stories that were handed down.

People who have moved in? Maybe.

Many generations... although I was born in Aiken, my family had just moved there.

I spoke with her last night... she did know. As did my Dad.... I'm the one who didn't have a clue!

besides the west coast there is serious earthquake danger in the northeast, around charleston south carolina and memphis tennessee.
a major quake in any of those places today would be among the most devastating disasters in us history.
