Statement from the Parents of Trayvon Martin:

Statement from the Parents of Trayvon Martin:

"The killing of 17 year old Jordan Davis is yet another reminder that in Florida, racial profiling and stereotypes may serve as the basis for imaginary fear and the shooting and killing of young teenagers. No matter the verdict, the fact that Ron and Lucia will never see their son again will not change; we know that pain all too well. We walk with Jordan in defining his legacy to reflect our hopes by advancing love and tolerance in his memory, and continuing the fight against unjust gun laws."

My heart just aches for both sets of parents, and the many whose names we never hear.

I realize that people here and elsewhere are well-meaning, but any prosecutor will tell you the more an indictment becomes a political football, the harder it is to obtain a guilty verdict.

Frankly I hope that suppression orders become the norm in cases such as these.

The wholesale loss of justice in Florida is also a great tragedy.

Reverse the races in the Dunn case and imagine the differences. It is just undeniable. Stand your ground might as well be retitled the guilty white man protection act.
