You can't stop people from posting what they want to post about. If people want to post redundant posts on breaking news that's been posted a dozen times already, you can't stop it. If someone wants to post about the pulchritudinous (great word, no?) SI cover, than they will.
If someone wants to post dozens of threads about the TPP, or fracking, I assure you that said person will do so.
All you can do is not click on the threads that don't interest you or that you think suck, or post in that thread saying so.
