Here's another thread about gender

Males and females and transgendered people are all being done wrong by our current political economic system.

There may be variations in specifics.

But ultimately economic serfdom, political corruption and an erosion of the values of common decency in our public institutions do not discriminate. They are all tied together in a pattern.

Hopefully we can keep our eyes on the ball to change that, even as we also deal with those other issues.

if a woman is not going to get equal pay for the same job it makes it even worse.

you can't ignore those things.

there are benefits to things like marriage which some gays would not be able to get.

Women do not get paid the same as men for the same work. To gloss over that is to do a disservice to women.

Transgendered people are discriminated against in many ways that straight (CIS?) men are not. To gloss over that is also a disservice to transgendered.

You can't just lump men in with women and transgendered if they are the ones in power and with the best lot in life as a whole. Your OP is politely saying we should not worry about the discrimination of women and transgendered since men are also being done wrong by your current system, but the discrimination of women and transgendered is greater and institutionalized and getting worse with the passage of new discriminatory and invasive laws.

Men are the ones passing those laws for the most part. Men are the ones in power. Men are the ones who make the best salaries.

So no, I don't agree with your OP since it is basically saying to make the discrimination secondary just because we are all also getting screwed by the 1%. I won't do that. I don't think that's what you really meant to say, but it is inherent in the post since you are equating it all when in fact, women and transgenders have it much worse than men. And that's what I will keep my eye on.

Fighting the "current political economic system" together still leaves the discrimination if we set that aside. And if that's not what you're proposing then I'm not sure why this OP exists. If we're going to all get screwed let's get screwed equally. Then we can be on the same team completely.
