6. The real shame is the people that are supposed to help

treat people like garbage...grr, there are way to many
people that just don't care about anybody but themselves.
Pretty sickening.

8. In my expoerience, many of them are afraid themselves.

They don;t know what to do to help you, or worse, the abuser/attacker is someone they know and they don't want to have to revise their entire world view. It can leave the victim alone, isolated, afraid and ashamed. It's incredibly hard to come back from that. You are let down by the world when you are attacked, just to be victimized again by the authorities, loved ones, or friends. And mostly because they don't want to have to face how ugly the world can be... or maybe even confront things they've done themselves.
