I have reached my limit today on my 53rd birthday.

I have to get this off of my chest.
I hate most American politicians.
These are other things that I hate..
1. people who think party allegiance comes before all else
2. America's capitalistic (no free market) system
3. 95% of our "leaders"
4. people who will not fight their captivity or even realize it
5. Our SCOTUS
6. corporatists
7. greed
8. just about every action that American politicians take
9.Candidates who lie their way into office and then turn on "their base.

thank you

I'd say about 70 percent of politicians. There are still a fair number of great Democratic politicians left...But they are outnumbered by the shits and/or jellyfish.

American version of capitalism as it is now sucks big time. We need to restore something that at least allows true competition and socially responsible (and regulated) free enterprise.

Happy Birthday

I agree with some of what he mentions, but considering the things that make things worth it lightens the load.

I used to read Job chapter 3 on my birthday.

It might cheer you up.

I am so with you on that list. You named the ones that are destroying "our" nation and the world. They have failed us so thoroughly.

I try to do a little something about it every day, but probably won't live long enough to see any change.

Still, it's fun trying

A few short years ago, the word "hate" was not in my vocabulary.
I have advanced heart disease (hereditary). I would LOVE to feel like a healthy 53 year old.
I LOVE my children and grand children.
I love my friends who really surprised me with a b-day party.
As a single Father, the b-day card that my teenaged son gave me was the most LOVED card that I have ever gotten.
The message he wrote me still makes me tear-up. I had NO idea of the depth of his love for me. All of my children (out of state) called and made me feel great but when I read the message my Son wrote..it made me so proud. As my only Son...
LOVE!

I hope for you a great day and a wonderful year.

And I encourage you to get some post cards and consistently write (once a week) to those politicians who make us all crazy and tell them again and again and again.

I am watching the Olympics and thinking of these athletes going out day after day and doing what was required to get them to Sochi.

Postcards are good because they go right thru. Letters take a month to clear the security for Congress.

I am still able to be a little more active, but mostly do letters (for urgent action cases for Amnesty International) or post cards or emails. I am not good on the phone. And I will be a precinct worker for the elections this year.

We have to be active! Each of us must do what we can. Please do not give up!

A year ago I was where you are. (Twenty years older, but I mean in terms of discouragement with politicians.) Since then I have looked for ways I can be effective. So, I send a hug and encouragement and hope.
