Situations like that could easily get out of control and wind up as another urban tragedy.

Notice that the first cop escalated the encounter from the beginning, while they simply passed by the first guy with the alarm going off.

I would have told my friend to find someone else.

something similar to this being done with bikes at a park. Not only were the results what you would expect when it was a white guy vs a black guy, but it truly went off the rails when it was a white girl. If my memory is right, folks offered to help her.

Had this show back in the 90's.

In one segment he put a black actor on one street nicely dressed.

On another a former convict.

Then they tried to hail cabs.

The white convict got picked up over and over. The black guy never.

Little films like this are good. Makes people think.

It was Yaphet Kotto - from Live and Let Die and Alien who was hailing the cab. That show was my first introduction to Westboro Baptist Church as well - he had a great segment on them as well.

I thought the point was that they were identical.
Until I noticed they were identical (except race).

By making you look closely, it makes you think and construct the argument for yourself.

I'd seen this posted by a friend on Facebook, and frankly, I didn't know the web site from which it came. It's pretty interesting and useful on topics of race, gender, etc.

are the folks who insist racism no longer exists. These same folks claim the gunning down of unarmed black teens like Trayvon and Jordan Davis had nothing to do with race.
