After taxes this person will be lucky to have 250 Million.

Hardly a 1%er. Their wealth is off the charts.

Hedge fund managers are making billions in one year.

The top percent of income earners are not the same 1% who control the bulk of the nations wealth.

In fact the real 1% don't have income... they have investments, trusts and capital gains.

Making $383,000 in one year does not make you a 1%er. The real 1% want to broaden the 1% class in peoples imagination as wide as possible. Their greed depends on this illusion.

The guy who won the lottery will pay about 50% in taxes.

The real 1% pay (15% rate) capital gains...if that.

Most multi-millionaires are not 1%ers. It's hard to believe but the disparity of wealth in this country is so broad and concentrated in so few.

...Certainly the 1% includes "billionaires", but it also includes "real" people who end up getting paid well for their work (like my wife). Many of them are Democrats and even liberals (like my wife). Just like not all poor people are Republicans.

Stop kidding yourself your wife is not a 1%er...

There are 1%ers like Jaimie Diamon, LLoyd Blankfein, Mark Benioff, Getty, and others who identify with the Democratic Party.

Watch the video.

When you look at the disparity in net worth, things look even more skewed. Wealthier Americans have assets — in home equity, stocks and other investments — that generally outstrip their cash income. Average wealth of the top 1 percent was almost $14 million in 2009, according to a 2011 report from the Economic Policy Institute. That’s down from a peak of $19.2 million in 2007.

To me all these numbers are meaningless when you look at hedge fund earners.

Ray Dalio Earnings: $3 Billion
James Simons Earnings: $2.1 Billion
Carl Icahn Earnings: $2 billion
Steve Cohen Earnings: $600 million
David Shaw Earnings: $580 million

That these guys are measured in the same class as someone who makes 1.5 million or 14 million might the confusion.
