Why do people say that Democrats need to do this or that to win in 2014

but when Dems respond accordingly, those same people say they're only doing this or that because it's an election year?

What's up with that?

election year, we suspect them of playing us. If they don't do what we want, even in an election year, we are convinced that they are sell-outs. Must not be easy to be a Democratic politician - especially if you are a sincere one. We suspect them at best, jettison them at worst. I wonder if republicans are this hard on their politicians.
