He was not THAT great a singer, either. A decent "song stylist," but not the most musical guy in the world IMO.
He affected a somewhat "cool" attitude, but he hit a flat note every so often. He was mobbed up, though, so his career got a good bit of help.
He was a sexist, as was common with men of his era, but he could be pretty crass.

(29,257 posts)I'm talking about forming groups with kids your own age and building the kinds of bonds with true age peers. I think it's important.
I also think it is important to not think you are better than other people, to see other people's strengths as important as your own. I'm not saying that would be impossible to learn with the way he was raised, but I would think it would be difficult.
