Is our government more like The West Wing or House of Cards?

Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one. Thomas Paine

"History has tried to teach us that we can't have good government under politicians. Now, to go and stick one at the very head of government couldn't be wise." Mark Twain

The banksters and their ilk are quie clever, but I do not see the Gov. in that light, for after all,
who is leading who around by the pocketbook?

"When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society,
they create for themselves, in the course of time,
a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it."
- Frédéric Bastiat
