It Is What It Is

UGANDA …. The Anti-Homosexuality Bill has been signed!!

UGANDA’S ANTI-HOMOSEXUALITY BILL – AKA “KILL THE GAYS BILL”

~~December 13, 2012 at 2:50 PM~~

As background information, according to human rights organizations, at least 500,000 gay people live in Uganda out of a total population of 31 million. Existing laws criminalize homosexual behavior with prison sentences lasting up to 14 years. These laws are remnants of British colonialism design to punish what colonial authorities deemed “unnatural sex” among the Ugandan people.

It’s interesting to note that this bill may already be on a legally unsound footing. In spite of the fact that these laws stem from British colonialism times, Uganda, like other African countries, adopted a very liberal constitution during the neo-liberal reform of the 1990′s. Article 21 of the Ugandan Constitution of 1996 titled Equality and Freedom from discrimination is very explicit in its defense of freedom against discrimination, though it doesn’t cite sexual orientation specifically.

~~OUTING GAY PEOPLE IN THE MEDIA~~

In April 2009, a local newspaper printed the names of suspected homosexuals; another printed an article with “tips” of how to identify gays for the general public. A list of the nation’s 100 “top” gays and lesbians with their photos and addresses was published. Next to the list was a yellow strip with the words “hang them”.

snip

Rachel Maddow, an openly lesbian TV host, has been running a continuing segment on the bill, entitled “Uganda Be Kidding Me” on the Rachel Maddow Show. She has asserted that Richard Cohen has “blood in his hands” for providing false inspiration for the legislation. She has also questioned the truth in Pastor Richard Warren’s statements when he said, in an interview, “it is not my political calling, as a pastor in America, to comment or interfere in the political process of other nations”.

(REALLY????)

WE NEED TO STAND WITH OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF UGANDA ……. PREVENT ANY ATTEMPT TO EVEN THINK ABOUT ANYTHING SIMILAR HAPPENING IN THE USA.

Hater Problem, the better, she~

Just doing a little research I found this.. it looks to me like the big hate on Equality in Uganda could come from the evangelicals on a mission from hell.

Much like a business, they have found a target market – Uganda being a war-torn nation with one of the world’s youngest populations – a people ready for indoctrination. Much like a marketing campaign, there is a cold, calculated and dangerous element to their quest.

Coming from the US from the likes of "Pastor Warren" and the tea bag herd. Oh yeah, I see their hands all over this!

A most read and a must see.

PS that sweet child in the photo, doesn't look like he is buying any of their crap. Children know Cha. Somehow they do.

Thanks Cha excellent link!

Frank Schaeffer: Killing Gays For Jesus

12/3/2009

'...It is dominion we are after. Not just influence. It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time. It is dominion we are after. World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel.'
Nothing illustrates the danger we face from our own Taliban better than the way American "Christians" are now tangled up with the homophobic --- now potentially gay murdering --- Ugandan Christian/political leadership.

This was written before that bill became law.

Rick Warren et al

...Others with ties to violent groups are also striving to turn America into our version of a “Christian” Iran. Reconstructionism, otherwise known as Dominionist Christianity, and the Republican Party are one and the same thing these days.

Consider Erik Prince – founder of the nefarious Blackwater private “security” firm.

...Erik Prince grew up with powerful leaders in the Christian Right. Prince quit a White House internship with George H.W. Bush. He said Bush was too secular. As a converted Catholic, Prince joined the Knights of Columbus. Today Prince sees himself as a Christian crusader, an armed one with a private army. Blackwater’s criminal torture of U.S. war prisoners has been documented so has employee intimidation and threats of violence. Prince sees his call to rid the world of Islam and make way for Christian hegemony.

Meanwhile...

Rushdoony who Prince, Huckabee and others follow, said the Bible must replace civil laws and constitutions with the Old and New Testaments, including the revival of the death penalty for homosexuality, incest, adultery, losing virginity before marriage and apostasy. Rushdoony once told me: “Democracy is a heresy.”

Geez. Frank Schaeffer nails it.

"Respectable" leaders like Warren, Huckabee and Palin won’t admit it but they would like to do here what the Ugandans are doing there, and not just to gays, to all the "other" who are in the way of their taking America into the darkness of theocracy.

Christians, my ass!

Excellent, freshwest. Thank you.
