Garry Trudeau taking another break from 'Doonesbury' to work on 'Alpha House'

NY Daily News:

Okay, comic strip fans, we’re about to lose “Doonesbury” again for a while. Maybe quite a while.
Blame it on TV, on which almost everything gets blamed, but which this time really is guilty.

Garry Trudeau, creator of “Doonesbury,” said this week that new daily strips stop March 3 and he won’t do any more while he’s producing the successful TV series “Alpha House.”

He gave no date for his return. “Alpha House” just got renewed for a second season, and Trudeau hinted that even if this season does not go well, it could be September before he’s back to drawing “Doonesbury” full-time.

Wel, probably won't be anything political to write about...

there have been a lot of reruns of Doonesbury, with no explanation from my local paper. Now I have a clue about what's going on.
