CEDAR BLUFFS, Neb. — For Derek Westrom, the thrill may never leave him.
Derek, a junior at Cedar Bluffs High School, fulfilled a dream Thursday by playing for the varsity basketball team when he entered the game against Winside.
Nothing unusal about that.
What was different is that Derek, who joined the team about a month ago, has Down syndrome.
