...
Scott Walkers defense has always been that he had no connection to any of this, but it is impossible to make that argument when a message sent from his Blackberry ends up posted nearly word for word on a website just a half of an hour after he sent it. On Fox News Sunday, Walker refused to answer questions, and got very defensive when asked about the emails.
...
His main defense is that he wasnt charged with a crime. However, not being charged with a crime isnt the same thing as not committing a crime. Walkers refusal to answer questions about the emails is only serving to heighten the scrutiny on the governor.
...
There is enough evidence in these emails for a new investigation into Gov. Walker. If the state wont investigate, the apparent level of corruption is so severe that this may require federal involvement. It appears that Scott Walker committed numerous crimes, but it may take a public outcry for justice to be done.

"The post was an observation made to a multitude of individuals. They were trusted to determine how best to handle that observation based on their own individual capacity," Wetzel said. "Neither the governor nor the campaign are aware of who made the post."
The post duplicated and carried out an email directive Walker sent to about two dozen people. .......

(959 posts)I guarantee that No. 3 will be John Kasich of Ohio. He has kept his head down since the disaster of trying to break the public unions here, and the baggers will probably not be happy, because he's not crazy enough for them, but watch him pop to the surface if Walker implodes.

(96 posts)1. This investigation has been going on for how long? 3 years? If they had something that they thought they could bust him on they would. I will come back and apologize, and I would be glad to come back to do it, if anything comes of this.
2. The average person doesn't care about this. They assume every politician has people in his office who do some campaign work on the taxpayers dime. They just don't care.
I hope I am wrong but don't think I am. This won't bring him down. Funny thing is, I do have some friends who are Republicans and they hope this keeps him from any attempt at the Presidency. They absolutely believe he has a far greater impact on their lives as Governor vs. President. And they love him. They will give money and go door to door for this guy. What the Republicans have right now that we don't is passion for our candidate.

(96 posts)were not going to vote for Scott Walker. And I am not confusing blind allegiance with passion. Many of the people I know who support Walker may be blind but they absolutely believe in what Walker is selling. They love him and will donate money and time to get him reelected. That is something we don't have at this point. Many people, like myself, only have a small limited amount of money to give to campaigns. I will wait and see how the campaign and Mary Burke look going forward. If it looks like a lost cause than much of my money will go elsewhere.

(36,063 posts)it appears to have spawned another investigation referred to as Son of Doe. That investigation is proceeding.
The original investigation involved only possible wrong doing in Milwaukee County.
Son of Doe, involves multiple counties, so some reporters call it Sons of Doe, of which there are 5. Those investigations are looking into wrong doing that includes groups that are essentially fronts for billionaire activists, including the Koch brothers.
A summary of all this is provided here:

(1,135 posts)to the list! Robert and Maureen McDonnell were charged last in a 14-count indictment that alleges that they repeatedly asked wealthy Richmond businessman Jonnie R. Williams Sr. for loans and for gifts of money, clothes, golf fees and equipment, trips and private plane rides, totaling at least $165,000.00. In exchange, the McDonnells allegedly worked together to lend the prestige of the governors office to Williamss struggling company.
Then there's Michell Crazy-eyes, Bachman and her hubbie under ethics investigation. Her entire staff are testifying against her!
The list grows and grow....

(45,251 posts)I don't understand which law this breaks:
Someone should comment on the fact that the only way for the county to benefit from that success is to contract out operations, Walker wrote in an email. Having a well performing airport increases the value that the county could receive.
That is the only supposedly damning email that the article quotes. The article said that he sent the message to aides, volunteers and campaign workers from his phone. I don't get it.
