Sanity in Kansas: Brownback in big trouble in the polls

BY YAEL T. ABOUHALKAH
The Kansas City Star

It’s only late February, but re-election for Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback in November isn’t nearly as certain as it once appeared.

A new Public Policy Polling report says Brownback actually now trails Democratic challenger Paul Davis, 42 percent to 40 percent.

Can you say ... Gov. Davis in 2015?

Why is this even possible?

Because Browback is darn unpopular with a lot of Democrats — of course — but more surprisingly also with a good number of Republicans.

like to think. Not everyone wants to live in a state ruled by Brownback and the Koch Brothers, while the people live in a dystopia. We well might see the fall of Brownbackistan, hopefully.

Brownback is countering by pretending to be more moderate. Of course that infuriates the tea crazies, making him vulnerable in a primary. Best thing that could happen here is if a tea nut wins the Repub primary. I think Davis would be a slam dunk at that point. We did elect Sebelius for two terms after all.
