Georgia wants to pass the new Jim Crow law just like Arizona did(n't)

What, you say it's crazy, regressive, evil, we're all in.

http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2014/02/new-bill-georgia-would-allow-businesses-kick-gay-people-out-diners

A bill moving swiftly through the Georgia House of Representatives would allow business owners who believe homosexuality is a sin to openly discriminate against gay Americans by denying them employment or banning them from restaurants and hotels.

The proposal, dubbed the Preservation of Religious Freedom Act, would allow any individual or for-profit company to ignore Georgia laws—including anti-discrimination and civil rights laws—that "indirectly constrain" exercise of religion. Atlanta, for example, prohibits discrimination against LGBT residents seeking housing, employment, and public accommodations. But the state bill could trump Atlanta's protections.

The Georgia bill, which was introduced last week and was scheduled to be heard in subcommittee Monday afternoon, was sponsored by six state representatives (some of them Democrats). A similar bill has been introduced in the state Senate.

If I were still in Georgia, I'd open a business and exercise my rights as a Pastafarian to discriminate and refuse service to Dickheads.

1. I'd like to know how they are going to determine who is gay and who is not.

Will it be a "papers please" type of thing or will they just be able to deny service to anyone they suspect of being gay?

3. All they have to say is they believe you to be someone their religion opposes.

Especially if you are black or hispanic. They can't discriminate against you for being black but if they say they believe you are gay or believe in contraception or abortion or ???? then they can discriminate. The camel's nose is under the tent.

6. Good question! A lot of crews sometimes book 2 males in the same room to save costs. When I

was away ar corporate schools they always booked 2 guys to a room, same also on major installations of equipment where a crew went in for a couple of weeks. So, does this mean there's some kind of "straight test" everyone has to take so they can get a room. Will gays be required to wear arm bands or something, or have tattoos on their bodies? Will there be a gay and straight test in Georgia for every single person. And what about someone straight, but a bit gay. Does that contaminate the straight?

This is so fucked up in so many ways it reminds me of Nazi Germany, and that, is where we are headed if this shit persists. Who, will be the next group ... wrong religion, wrong ancestry, wrong political party, on and on. Many in legislatures belong no where near a government position. Oh, and the US as being free and equal. We've seen so much bullshit over decades and decades. Christ, even women are still fighting for equality. How F'ed up is that!

Some people just LOVE to persecute and hate, this gives them another group to get their jollies off on!

2. How does one determine the basis for discrimination?

If I went to breakfast with my sister, is it automatically assumed I am romantically involved with this individual?

How about if I went to dinner with a coworker of the same sex?

How would one determine the basis of our relationship?

Any effort to ascertain that information will be roundly met with "none of your fucking business!"

This is absurd!

the walls. If any think this is just about gays, they are very naive. It is using the gays as leverage to further undermine freedom, equality and civil rights in this country. It is akin to a door-to-door salesman sticking their foot in the door. Same tactics. Further, it it pushing for the creation of a theocracy in this country. It is extremely dangerous. So many Americans are so damn naive.
